The Blood Bank Assistant promotes the Dak Minn Blood Bank brand at blood drives and community events as well as performs donor recruitment, education, registration, screening, and whole blood collection activities.
Donor Relations Coordinator
The Donor Relations Coordinator manages the Dak Minn Blood Bank brand throughout the community and surrounding area by forming community alliances, delivering presentations which educate the public on blood donations, cultivating media relations, the development of advertising campaigns and maintaining a web-based presence through the management of the Dak Minn Blood Bank website and social media platforms. The Donor Relations Coordinator develops strategies to achieve collection goals and deliver exceptional donor experiences, rewards and recognition through both in-house and mobile blood collection operations.
Technical Specialist
The Technical Specialist supports the Donor Center and Transfusion/Tissue Services functions in both an operational and technical capacity. This person is responsible for duties fundamental to service area support and success, including regulatory compliance, technical process, personnel competency, quality improvement and budget assistance and resource utilization.
Medical Laboratory Scientist – Hospital (MLS/MT)
The Medical Laboratory Scientist understands the underlying scientific principles and technical elements of laboratory testing and result interpretation, as well as technical, procedural, and problem-solving aspects of pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical processes. The MLS is capable of performing and interpreting waived, moderate, and high complexity testing, and possesses skills to perform routine phlebotomy for patients of all age groups. The MLS interprets quality control values, troubleshoots and resolves QC failures, participates in additional quality assurance activities, and operates and maintains laboratory instrumentation.
Lead Medical Laboratory Scientist Transfusion/Tissue Service – Hospital (MLS/MT)
The Lead Medical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for coordinating the day to day functions for assigned area, providing direction and delegation of workload and resources while on shift. The Lead assists with ensuring that departmental goals, initiatives and regulatory compliance are achieved, timelines are met, and service excellence is provided in all aspects of work. The Lead serves as a subject matter expert and is responsible for performing complex laboratory procedures and tests in areas of established competence. The Lead monitors, screens and troubleshoots devices, tests and procedures. The Lead recognizes anomalies and makes corrections to ensure quality. Serves as a model for professionalism by focusing on patient care, respectful communication to coworkers and clients, safe work practices, and attention to rapid and accurate testing.
